June 1, 2000 — February 13, 2016

Buddy our little dachshund was our first pup. We rescued Buddy in June of 2000, and he stole our hearts. Our children were young at the time, both of there responses when they met him was, hi “Buddy”, his name was instantly decided, he did have a long list of nicknames, Budster, Bud Bud, Budsteroni, Budweiser, Mac, Roni/Ron and responded to each one… When we first rescued Buddy we lived in a condominium where dogs were not permitted, we were in the process of moving into a single home so we took the chance of keeping him at our condo, even though there could potentially be a steep fine. When going out we would put Buddy in either our coats so that the neighbors couldn’t see him or a backpack which became a game for him….Whenever we would take him for a car ride, we would tell him to get in the backpack, he knew as soon as he would get in the car he could get out. he would on occasion pop his head out or sneeze when walking past people outside of our condo.. Numerous times people would say “God Bless you” to us after we added our own sneezes along with his, so not to blow his cover. Once in our single home Buddy’s favorite daily ritual was to chase bunnies, explore the yard, go for walks, go for a car ride and snuggle. He was a very devoted friend and family member, he will always remain in our hearts and fondest memories..We miss and love you Buddy boy are hearts are broken. Run free at Rainbow Bridge Bud, one day we will be together again
