April 7, 2007 — September 15, 2017

In late March of 2007, we lost our dog, KodieJack. Our family was devastated. Our second dog, LuciJo, became very depressed and wouldn’t eat or go outside and would sit on the sofa, looking out the window, waiting for Kodie to come home. Between her sadness and our sadness, we knew we needed another dog.
We started looking online and going to Pet Adoption days, but couldn’t fit the right fit. On Saturday, April 7, 2007, we went to PetSmart in Princeton to get a few treats for Luci to perk her up. When we walked in, S.A.V.E. of Princeton was there holding an adoption day. As soon as we walked in, there sat this beautiful black German Shepherd mix, who didn’t look to be much older than a year or so… He was wearing a little orange vest that said, “ADOPT ME” and my oldest daughter immediately ran over and threw her arms around his neck. Before I could finish filling out the application, she was literally laying on him like a pillow while he kissed her face. We had found our newest family member! Bonus…it was her birthday!! The girls decided to name him Elvis Blue – Elvis, because their Dad liked his music, and Blue for the middle daughter’s favorite color. It was a match made in Heaven!
Elvis fit in right away and was an important and integral part of our family. He was very smart and knew most everything you said. He loved all of the girls with all of his doggie heart and put up with many “girl” things like having his hair brushed, trying to be ridden like a small pony, and having his nails painted. He didn’t really care for the nail painting and he did not like thunderstorms or very loud noises. He was a great dog and an even better friend whose absence will leave wonderful memories, but also a huge hole in our hearts.
Elvis leaves behind 4 guinea pig brothers and sisters, George and Pugsley and Luna and Leni, 1 furry dog brother, Gustav Heinrich VonJingles (affectionately known as GusGus), three furry sisters, MaraBelle Louise, Kaytdid Daffodil, & Nala Moon and his humans.
We would like to believe that he is up in Heaven playing fetch with His Pop-Pop Eddie and his PopPop Tom and all of our previous furry family members who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge before him. We’ll see you when we get there, buddy… Love you BIG MUCH!
