My wonderful, 15-year old kitty – Mr. Peanut – passed away Sunday morning after his illness.
He was the best cat you could ever want to have. I adopted him almost 14 years ago. He loved to sit in the front window and wait for me to come home. Warm weather meant sun baths and naps on the back porch- hanging out on the window ledge. He enjoyed all the outdoor wildlife the yard had to offer. He was very fond of the deer that wandered into the backyard and came up by the porch to munch on the Hosta plants. Watching the birds that perched in the holly tree in the front yard and the squirrels running around kept him interested for many hours. I am sure he was thinking what a great meal they would make. He was a constant companion who slept wherever he wanted on the bed or couch – most of the time on top of Ms. Claire and I. He loved to stretch out, get petted, and brushed and – man oh man – loved to eat. He would always let you know when it was dinnertime.
He was a gracious host when it came to the Grand Kids. He got used to them over the years and would let all of them pet him. He really enjoyed the company of the baby – 22 month old Emily! He surprised me when he jumped on the couch and sat next to her while she watched TV. She would always get excited when he came into the living room!
So after all this time he said his last MEOW on 02-15-15 around 6:00 am on my lap. I will miss him!!! I enjoyed our long and caring relationship with Mr. Peanut.
