My little Star was a rescue dog that had been surrendered to the shelter by her owner. The previous family did not want to keep her because it was claimed she was biting the children. The real reason, I believe was because she has a hernia that perhaps they did not want to pay to get fixed.
Star was 10 years old, but had the energy of a younger dog. She loved playing outdoors. After the hernia was removed, she became even more energetic. I fell in love with her and decided to give her a loving home for the rest of her life.
She lite up me life. She quickly learned to navigate the house and would scamper from room to room. To my amazement I found out she was already crate trained and potty trained. She was very particular about what she ate. Her daily routine was too remove any hard food that mixed with soft so that all she had was soft. You could not make her eat hard food at all.
Her last night was so sad. She looked so helpless as the disease engulfed her body. She seemed to know she was leaving me cause she crawled in my arms and stayed there until the end. I love and miss you my Shining Star.
