Harper Sun Meade
May 2006- April 2, 2024

Harper Sun Meade joined the angels above on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in her 17th year of life. Harper was adopted from Knightswood Animal Hospital in August 2006 by her mother, and Aunt Shannon Bigford (née. Loughran). She is survived by her parents Katherine and Matt Wysong, her pet turtle Squirt, her sister Virgina, and her human siblings Winston, Penelope, and Vivian. She is predeceased by her sister Mieka, and brothers Bradley Meade, and Leo “Baddie” Little Foot Simerson.
Harper was a lover of a cat. Always gentle and patient she would never hurt a fly. Except that one time she accidentally killed my pet zebra finch Papa when she knocked down his cage. She loved laying in the sunshine and rolling around in the grass, chomping on spider plants, eating snicky snacks, and of course laying on Mama’s lap. She was our social butterfly, often joining in on the fun at parties. While a lifelong professional muffin maker by trade, what she loved most was being with her family. She would even join us for dinner at the table. Fortune cookies, being one of her favorite occasional treats.
Harper’s favorite color was blue. It was the only color she would wear and you could even find her adding the occasional blue floral accessory to her collar. Most often she would play with her foam blue soccer balls. She was an expert at playing fetch, and she had high expectations of you throwing that ball hard. Otherwise, she would drop the ball with someone else in the room. She played ball on and off throughout her life, the last time I can remember being this past December.
Harper and I grew up together. From living at Grammy’s to living through my twenties, marriage, babies, and house buying. She was there for it all. I will forever be grateful for having her in my life because she made the days better. The kitchen feels so empty now without her lying in her cubby or escorting me to her bowls. I can’t believe my shadow is gone. I will love you forever, Harper. My little black cat, my little lovie, my heart, my Harper.

I’ll love you forever Harper.
