Our Heaven Sent Sally

The moment we saw the gentle wag of your short tail and that loving face of joy and wonder, we knew you were meant to be with us and become part of our family. During our first car ride back to your forever home, you showed us a state of calm, comfort, and trust with no sense of hesitation towards your new parents. There was an expression that your mom and I saw, and it was this: “Ahh, this is my mom and dad…I was meant to be with you…I’m safe…and I’m loved…this is my forever family”.
Over the years together, words can’t describe the joy and love you brought to us all. From the little things like pointing to one of your favorite toys to play in front of us while we watch tv, dressing up for the holidays, our walks outside together, to holding your paw when you wanted love and attention; you were a joy being our loving responsibility.
Eventually the time had come for you to cross the rainbow bridge, and although we will no longer physically feel your presence, your kind spirit and fond memories will live forever in our hearts and minds. Our love for you will know no end: life and death are only intermittent stops on the great wheel of existence; we will meet again someday.
Sally, we will miss you, we won’t forget you, and we’ll always love you.
